ZOOM CLASSES


Beginners are welcome to join Cyndi to make a simple quilt top using just three fabrics. Choose one fabric you really love, and two that coordinate - we will need one yard of each. Next choose a pattern from the wide selection of 3-Yard quilt books that QC has available.

Learn a quick and easy hand quilting stitch that will add a sweet personal touch to your quilts. Cyndi will also teach you a hand embroidery stitch that will make binding your quilts lots of fun.

This delightful quilt features six different birds made with quick and easy piecing. Cyndi made our sample, and will share tips for organizing, cutting and sewing.

Here is a playful way to add curves to your quilt. Circles of different sizes are cut, then layered with raw edges. Sew around, then slice them in quarters, rearrange, and enjoy the serendipity of your design!

Choose a favorite collection of 12 fat quarters, plus a coordinating background fabric. Cyndi will give you tips and lead you through rotary cutting and sewing this delightful 54" x 70" quilt top. Borders could be added to make it bigger.

Do you agonize over fabric choices when planning to make a quilt? Learn the language of color, explore the color wheel, and play with fabric combinations.

Join Cyndi for a single session and make a sweet 54" x 72" quilt top. You can choose to use a Quilters Corner kit of Tilda fabrics in blues or greens, or your own selection. Beginners will learn rotary cutting, piecing and pressing techniques, and quilters of all skill levels will have fun.

Learn the basics of English Paper Piecing (EPP) and the delight of hand work. We will explore the many possibilities of using hexies: classic, modern, and trendy. You will create a flower hexie to turn into a trivet, expand into a placemat, or a larger piece. EPP is a perfect portable project.

Learn some basics about machine quilting that will make you more successful: proper needles, thread, batting, tools and machine features. Then you will practice some simple designs that are beginner-friendly - first with a walking foot and then free-motion - so you can finish your quilts with confidence.

All it takes to make this fun area rug is a jelly roll (set of 42, 2 1/2" strips) and strips of cotton batting. It's lots of fun and so customizable. One jelly roll makes a rug approximately 30" x 44". Beginners are welcome.

In Jen's Long Time Gone Quilt, a collection of vintage-meets-modern patchwork elements come together, creating a beautiful explosion of color. For 12 months, "bust" some stash, learn new techniques and sew 16 different styles of blocks. The series will begin on October 31.

Start with one fabric, perhaps a large floral, a novelty, or a multicolor geometric. We will carefully line up repeats in the print, cut through four layers, choose a favorite kaleidoscope for each set, and sew.

Learn to sew with knits using a beginner knits pattern of your choice from the shop. You can make leggings, pants or undies, or Stephanie can help you with an unfinished knit project. You will learn techniques for cutting out, sewing seams, and topstitching for a professional look.

In this class we will talk about various clothing fibers (silk, cotton, polyester, etc.) You will learn how fiber content and the type of weave affects a fabric's qualities, and what projects each type is good for.

Stephanie's lecture covers similarities and differences between types of knits, and special techniques to sew them, which knits work for which types of clothing and how to select them for your projects.

Learn to create and stitch beautifully digitized embroidery designs in a hoop. All levels of embroiderers are encouraged, and all makes and models of machines are welcome. In this hands-on series of workshops, you will learn fabric and thread choices, hooping, stabilizers and techniques.

Are you stuck on a quilting or sewing project or do you not know how to get started? Would you like to finish something you began in another class? Dedicate some time to sew with other like-minded folks. Gather whatever you wish to work on and Cyndi will assist you.

Learn about your Pfaff Ambition or Expression sewing machine. We will cover basic operation, when to use which feet, selecting and adjusting stitches, care and maintenance.

Capture a beloved pet or a meaningful landscape in fabric and thread. Begin by sending a photo to Louise a week before class so she can create a custom pattern. She will walk you through layout, fabric choice, placement, and thread painting.

If you have learned the basics of your Pfaff 720, join Linda for hands-on exploration of the more advanced features: stacking stitches, tapering, single and double ribbon stitches, triple stitches, floating stitches and Stitch Creator.

For those who want to take their piecing up a notch, join Cyndi monthly as she leads you through cutting and piecing harder blocks: diamonds, y-seams, curves, odd shapes, and more.

Join Kristin for the fun and relaxation of hand stitching. This monthly series is designed to help you learn new embroidery stitches, and to offer dedicated time to practice the gentle art of embroidery. Each class will stand alone and feature one or two new stitches.

This beautiful Block-of-the-Month designed by Sue Spargo is a celebration of the modern Christmas Tree. If you are signed up for this program and want some help getting started, Kristin will show you how to applique with wool fabric and add embellishment with decorative stitches.

This class is for anyone who has made a tuffet and would like to change the look to celebrate a season, a special holiday or match a new decor; there is no limit to the possibilities! The slipcover is designed to fit over an already constructed Tuffet Source Tuffet.

The 10" Wonky Log Cabin Trim Tool puts a fun twist on a traditional block. Designed to work with 2-1/2" strips, it is pre-cut friendly, but will also be great with scraps! Since each round is trimmed before adding the next one, your final trim squares up the block so it is ready to be used in your project.
