Million Pillowcase Challenge

We wanted to keep you informed on the progress of our 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge sponsored by American Patchwork & Quilting. We just sent out our first 100 pillowcases. Yea! We are working through Tompkins County United Way and they are distributing them through several organizations.
The first set of 100 went to the Samaritan Center of the Catholic Charities of Tompkins/Tioga. This center serves people of all faiths not just catholics. It gives personal care items to families and individuals in immediate crisis. They have a free clothing closet, they provide short-term emergency financial assistance for low-income individuals among several other important services.
Below is Meg Cole from United Way picking up a basket of the pillowcases and the second photo is Meg and Michelle Brichacek, the Coordinator at the Samaritan Center. They were thrilled to get each and every one of them. They send their thanks to all of you.
