Good News, Bad News

One of the high points of our day is when Kevin, the UPS guy comes in to the shop. Not only is it summer in Ithaca and he is now in shorts, but he brings us goodies everyday.
This can be both good news and bad news. The good news is that almost evey day he brings us beautiful fabrics from lots of different companies. Most of these we have picked out up to 6-8 months ago at market. Some of it we remember, but for most it's like we've never seen it before. It feels like Christmas every day. The bad news is that we have to put it all in inventory and tag it, then find just the right spot for it in the shop. Luckily for the rest of us, Cyndi manages the fabric.
If it isn't fabric, it's usually patterns, books, notions, and Pfaff related products. Every month we get a automatic shipment of just published books from two different companies, C&T and Martingale. It's usually a race to see who can get to those boxes first. Kristin, Rhonda and I seem to be the front runners. Lately we seem to be getting a lot of good books in. Too many in fact, we can't decide what to make samples from first. The notions, patterns, Pfaff stuff and other books also come in daily.
So it feels like summer outside, finally, in Ithaca. People are gardening, we actually see the sun periodically, but inside it's Christmas at Quilters Corner everyday!
